Binding opinions

Impartial expertArbitrators and authoritative lawyersAvoid lengthy legal proceedings

Decisions by impartial experts

An impartial expert renders a binding opinion on a dispute. A binding opinion is an effective way of deciding disputes without lengthy, sprawling court proceedings. It goes faster, too: The procedure is tailored to the situation, and an advisor is selected for the specific dispute.

Within mediation

Sometimes, the parties decide in a mediation to submit a portion of the dispute to an advisor for a binding opinion. For example, if the last, unresolved piece of the dispute boils down to a legal issue which the parties would like to obtain a definitive answer on. Together with the mediator, they formulate a clear question. In submitting the question, both parties undertake to comply with the advisor’s binding judgment. The advisor will answer the question, explaining his/her reasoning.
